Oh, another Game of Thrones fan.

I thought Sean Bean was perfect as Ned. Yes, it is pretty loyal to the book-again without spoliering-I am reading the book now and wondered just how they would translate it to the screen because each chapter is from one character's perspective...and there is quite an array of characters! They did manage it.

I know not everyone like it, but I loved it!

I really want to read the books now. I remember my dad telling me about a particular scene years ago (that was at the end of the first episode, oh my god) and I was like these books sound mental. But I think I shall give them a go now!

I will say they are a slow read in the sense of the complexity of plot and characters. But, so well written! Not derivative of anything, the book is unique.

I found it was a better value to buy a box set of all four books. And I see there is a game, too! I would love to play it.

I LOVED the first episode (and not only for sean bean, although for all I care he could just sit there and do nothing for 60 minutes and I'd still watch :p)

other than that I sadly haven't had time to watch anything else :p

May I recommend Silent Hill then?

I've been meaning to read these books for ages, I should get to it. I've only seen promo pictures, but they look amazing.

I've never read the Game of Thrones books, unfortunately in my country fantasy novels are not that advertised :(
That's why I should just keep up with the fantasy literature world through the internet, I really should.

I watched the first episode though and my god! You're completely right, the sets were to die for! And the costumes! The first episode definitely intrigued me, I can't wait to watch more! And possibly find the books for a good, long summer reading :D

Another mini series I should watch: The Crimson Petal and the White. Not only for Mark Awesome Gatiss, but I've heard interesting (and positive) things about it: anybody else is watching it?

Oh god the costumes! They've really stepped up the game since Lord of the Rings came out, which is definitely an improvement. I can't wait to see more.

I've been enjoying the Crimson Petal and the White :) I even introduced my family to it - I was out all day yesterday so I missed it, but they recorded it for me so I don't have to watch it on my computer, bless them.
