Mycroft was working security protecting prince Harry from before the wedding until the wedding breakfast started. Harry was much better behaved than his younger brother, he was ex eedingly pleased to note. Harry was happy to be handed off to Mycroft's releif as it was not!Anthea, who was much nicer to look upon although she never looked up as she was far too busy deleting the 1000 "BORiNG!"'s off of both her and Mycroft's Blackberries, complements of Sherlock. Once at the wedding breakfast ( he was sitting with the PM) he took exactly one bit of each course except the cake, of which he ate all, despite seven pointed texts that Sherlcock sent him about the amount of simple carbohydrates and calories, as well as fat grams. Mycroft declared the cake worth eveyr bite. He did however take exception when Mummy ((5 tables away) sent him a pointed text about eating something so obviously unhealthy. Unfortunately, the Holmes technique of death- by-glaring does not work on her.since snince she was the person that taught it to them ( ... )

I love this. Thank you for a smile.

I love the thought of Mrs H and John exchanging comments about the various hats on view...

Well what other fun is to be had at a royal wedding? He he he I am glad you enjoyed it. My Mycroft has a... Thing for cake. You can blame my ex-lover for that, he went to Johnson and Wales for a ba in pastry arts, so I have forgotten more about cake than anyone outside of a professional relm should know... It makes me very picky about the dessert trolly.

Oh you'll get no argument from me about cake as the Superior Food... and pastry! Yummm... Siduri, who started this thread, made, from scratch, a pan of cinnamon buns for a tea party in the late 1980s that I *still* recall as some of the finest I've ever had the joy to partake of... she was extremely self-effacing about it, claiming it was all just a matter of rolling and chillng the dough properly... it was well and truly a miracle of the baker's craft.

I also love the glimpse of Mummy Holmes you offer.True Mistress of the Holmes technique of death by glare. lol!
