Come to find I have a bad modem so now we know why we keep dropping net...When Nate called them, the tech support was shocked to say that they can't send out a truck till January 29! That's next year, yeah okay so three months with out net ( Read more... )

I heard about Comcast less than stellar services. That really sucks that they can't help you out until NEXT YEAR?! that is so ridiculous! These big name internet providers are charging up the ass for their services, I am forunate to live in a town like Alameda. We are the only city in the Bay Area that has its own internet and electric company, everyone else in the Bay Area goes through PG&E for their electric and Comcast for internet. We only pay $22 a month. It used to be $20, but they had to raise their prices a little.

Are there any local internet providers out there?
