I went to
Canada Computers on Saturday with Dan Sheehy (the IT guy from my office) and we've ordered all the parts for my new computer system that I'll be grabbing this Friday when it's ready. pentium processors rock - but poor folk like me get stuck with the AMD chips..gotta wonder about a company who cant measure the speed of their cpus.. Mhz is a measurement of speed.. you'd think an AMD 2800+ would mean.. its 2.8ghz.. but no.. thats like.. 2.1 or so. maybe a little more, as opposed to 2.8+ which is what it LOOKS like and should mean.
gratz on the new system. i was thinkin about upgrading but imma hold out till the 64 bit chips are more available at the end of the year, the new boards and cpus are gonna be one insane step ahead i think. they will be sick expensive tho.

I think it the program he uses is GuitarPort. It seemed cool theres a community where people make their own effects and upload them so peeps can download them and use em and stuff, pretty cool.
i remember when i upgraded my Pentium 233 to an AMD K6-2 550 or something.. then a pentium 933..then to.. a p3 1200... then an AMD Athalon 1900+..and each time thinking.. hrmm doesnt seem much faster..
tho when we upgraded suzi's p3 833 to an AMD 2200+ it was insane difference. her system boots into windows in under 20 seconds from the time you turn it on. its crazy.

I'd really like to check out GuitarPort. I was working at Steve's Music when it came out and all the guys in the guitar department seemed to be floored by it.
And boot time is SO important, i hate waiting around for my computer to boot up, grinding and grinding and beeping...Fucking thing... :)
