[Kid's been feeling guilty for not being in the action during Westport, for not being able to aid those in need. Being the literal son of (the death) god weighs heavy on a young lad's head, and he really can't shake the feeling that he should be doing something more. This, of course, means Kid has decided to help everyone feel better in the only ( Read more... )

Well, magic. Enchantments and all of that rot. Where have you been, really?

We've always relied on science, not magic. There've been reploids with magic-like motifs to them, but... no real magic.

What on earth is a reploi--

[Hey wait a minute - Kid cuts himself off. Something is strange here, and he finally got it. He doesn't sense anything in Massimo at all. He narrows his eyes, suspiciously.]

...iiiid.

I'll repeat myself. What is a "reploid?"

[[kid stop it you're scaring me ;A;]]

A kind of robot. 'Replica android,' if you will. We're designed to look and act human, complete with similar body parts, emotions, and free will. I'm biomechanical. I think that's the term for it, anyway.

... Define "bio-mechanical."

My skin's synthetic, my organs aren't organic, and I don't 'grow.'

I can't really define it very well.

[[He seems to be closing up a bit.]]

...Did I say something wrong?

Nothing of the sort. So you don't actually have any biological components?

Reply

steel_massifail May 12 2010, 05:08:29 UTC
No natural ones, no. It's sort of like... an artificial organ transplant given to someone, except I'm made entirely of artificial organs and skin. I have metal bones, too.

Explains... what?

mydedicatedfix May 12 2010, 05:18:47 UTC
The fact that you lack a soul.

Interesting. I wasn't aware that constructs could create independent thought.

I lack a soul?

[[wat]]

...Well, yes. Reploids are very advanced science. Sort of like... a supercomputer on legs?

You're without biological components, however, you are not like the abominations against nature here. Therefore, it's natural that I could not sense a soul from your carapace.

I assume you're programmed to behave in a certain pattern?

steel_massifail May 12 2010, 05:33:50 UTC
"Programmed?" No, we're just like humans. I have free will, my own range of emotions, and things like that.

You could almost say that I am human, except for my body.
