[In every life, the sun must set. Kid knew this more than anyone, but it didn't change the fact that it still hurt when he lost someone. It's hard to accept when someone simply disappears.

Still, Mayfield had enough problems right now without Kid adding another pile of worry and depression on the top. Liz always hated when he worked himself into a ( Read more... )

...there has been a lot of it going on, hasn't there. Some go home - I know that to be true of two of my friends here, at least. They seem droned, but in the meanwhile, they're back where they came from...

You said that only "some go home."

Do you know of someone who, ahh. Didn't? Just. You know, as a "what if" scenario.

I'm guessing you haven't gotten droned yet? I have... twice. And I didn't go anywhere. I... I remember everything that happened. [That last sentence is said sort of quietly.]

Supposedly I used to be here for several months, but I don't remember anything. I woke up in the same house I was assigned, even.

Forgive me if I am too forward, but-- do you remember what triggered your, ah. Episodes?

The only time I've been droned, I went home for 57 years before waking up here again.

...my goodness.

And that is how long on the Mayfield timeline?

Two and a half weeks, apparently.

Dearest Honorable Father, that's-- that's, what? A day per three years?

I'm unsure if I should be horrified or impressed, honestly.

I've apparently come and gone two or three times now and even I have no idea what happens.

Is there something wrong, Kid?

I apparently have, as well, but, I-- Maka, it's just...

Something's happened to Liz, Maka.

Oh, Kid...

Did she...Does she seem to be permanently droned? Or...has she actually left?

Her body is still here, if that's what you're asking. Liz, though, well. It's like she vanished. She's as... dim inside as most of the other constructs here. Blank.

I want to believe she's home with Patti, but with the information that was distributed after Westport, I...

I've looked into this a little. You want to know what I've found?

I'm open to all information. I'm trying to piece it together, myself.

I think they go home. From all accounts I can gather, they go back to the time they left and forget about this place. They get brought back sometimes.

It is part of the reason I want to tear this place down. I don't plan to get brought back after I escape.

I'm going to be honest, Sniper. I want to believe all of that.

But I've also heard conflicting stories. It makes blind optimism difficult.

Oh good question? Though another question to your question, why do some people leave?

mydedicatedfix June 29 2010, 04:36:43 UTC
It's valid as any other.

If you want to talk theory, it depends if they actually "leave" or not, doesn't it?

coolbowtie June 30 2010, 06:31:59 UTC
What happens when someone leaves? Are there any signs, notices, anything at all?

According to my research, it is either predated by a traumatic, violent event or simply "nothing."
