[Twelve hours of school, with a factory job on top of all of that - suffice to say, Kid's patience and tenuous grip on himself is faltering. His own over-inflated sense of duty prevents him from simply leaving, and he certainly isn't one to back out of an assignment. That said, he hasn't slept since the switch over to Commie Standard Time.

K-kid! Don't complain over the phone! They'll... they'll "reprogram" you...

That isn't important right now! Have you seen these jars? They call this "even rations?!" This isn't even or equal at all!!

...w-why does that matter? They're bound to find fault in anything you do, just... do your best.

"Best?" Best? This is anything but the "best!" This is a crime against everything pure and balanced!

I could handle the balancing of classes! That was reasonable!

These jars won't stand-- they simply won't! Who would want to have their rations, knowing that one jar was a few grams more or less than the other? No one! A complete disaster!

... ... ... why do you do this. limerenceloli July 7 2010, 02:48:01 UTC
[Screw this, Saya is too deadpanned to put up her friendly comrade act.]

... Kid, seriously. They are going to reeducate you.

Please don't do this. To me.

do you honestly think for a second that he would keep his mouth shut mydedicatedfix July 7 2010, 02:54:14 UTC
Reeducation? I'll give them reeducation! If someone is going to preach ideals, at least make sure that they're even across the board!!

Damn it, have you seen what they're producing? Horrible! Disastrous! These beets aren't colored evenly at all!

[If only Liz was around. He seems to calm down slightly at the firmness, but--

well.

Kid.]

Saya, how can you ignore this?! It's positively atrocious! If I don't stand up for this, if I can't adjust this, fix this, who will?!

If every man, woman, and child is equal, then the same should stand for every jar!

How could I not have seen the things--they're ever--THAT DOESN'T MATTER!

You're going to get into trouble!

Oh man. This place hates people looking at things the wrong way, much less flipping out like this. What the Hell're they gonna do to you, I wonder?

What happens is of little consequence, as long as something is done! The jars simply keep coming, every single one somehow worse than the next! Even! How is anyone supposed to neatly and symmetrically pack a peck of pickled beets if the weight isn't even, well, even?!

I'd be more concerned about your own symmetry. You won't be too symmetrical if they take your hand, will you?

Kid's dedication to equal distribution is an inspiration to us all! He has been made Canned Beet Inspector in addition to his duties.

He will also receive 7 1/2 Extra Beets on his ration card this week.
