I purchased the early bird package too through ASHA, but now I don't even know if I can go because a round trip along with hotel will cost about 400. *Sigh* I'll figure it out I guess...

My suggestion to you would be to look on the ASHA Forums under the 2009 Convention - that's how I found contacts for possible roommates. I'm not sure about you, but I knew I was going to ASHA no matter what (presenting research at a poster session) and none of my classmates have made definitive plans yet. So, I thought I'd take it into my own hands and room with someone I don't know - sometimes might be able to make some great new friends and network. Also, try find a hotel nearby that is cheaper - I'm staying at the Comfort Inn and Suites for only $120 something a night compared to almost $200 a night! If you have enough roommates (say, 3) and stay 4 nights, that's only $120/person! Good luck to you! I hope you can go. Next time, apply to be a volunteer - you get reimbursed after the Convention. I didn't get picked this year, but hope to try for next year.
