Do I ever wonder about those things? All the time, darlin. I feel terribly ungrateful for having all these opportunities, while being completely unable to utilize them. I'm really glad you did have some happy times in your marriage. I know Basil isn't the guy for me, but without him, god only knows where I'd be right now. He added so much to my dim little life, and I'm so grateful for that. Do you have the right to wish for something good for yourself? Hell yah!!!! You deserve every bit of goodness that's already happened, and then some. You definitely are worthy of more good things, don't sell yourself short. Sometimes funny things happen when we're forced out of our comfort zones, into the great unknown. Gifts & happiness happen when you least expect it.....

Do you ever wonder about the billions of people who were not lucky enough to be born in a counrty that has wealth?

I do...often. This very subject is what got me started on thinking about, and being critical of, religion. Since that time, I have come back to that thought time and time again.

It makes living life with occasional catastrophic failure much easier. I can say to myself, "Hey...at least I don't live in Chad".

heh spooner, I always say that it could be worse; I could live in the Sudan and have my clit sawed off with a rusty slice of metal of unknown origin.
Put's things right back in perspective, but still the reality of that thought lingers.....

me.no.religion.
I like the spirituality I find in nature.

Now, if I have to lose my house and go live in a crummy place, well, do I have the right to wish for something good to happen to me?

I think you have that right. After all, you were lucky enough to be born in a wealthy country, so this is your reality. But that doesn't mean you can't have a healthy outlook on unexpected and/or undesirable changes that come your way. You can hope for better, but you can also count your blessings. I don't think those activities have to be mutually exclusive!

*hugs*

I think about the same sorts of things a lot. Those damned Sudanese, spoiling our wallowing! ;) Seriously, it's good to keep things in perspective, but don't let guilt keep you from trying to be happy, either. You do deserve good things.

If you have to move I hope you end up in an apartment complex for happenin' singles. Well, if that's what you want. ;)

hello becca.

sometimes things get so out of whack that you wonder if anything can go right again. but as my resolve to get moving with life and stop living in this limbo between marriage and well, not, i find the scariness giving way to pragmatism, which will one day maybe give way to just normal. :o)

Ha Ha you made me laugh out loud Cait. Yeah, happenin' singles would be great. Maybe Schneider can be the super too! lol.

Honestly, that cracked me up.
