I ma referring to that Big Secret that EVERYONE else knows but me. That elusive secret that would allow me to function and be at ease with myself. I have been searching and searching. At least I can say of myself that I haven't given up. First there was the Karen Horney discovery. Now there is this, and I hope it helps someone else:

Well, hi there L. I happened to catch your post while I was here at work so I didn't read all of the info but I have known for quite some time that shame has been one of the controlling factors in my life. And although I know it, I also tend to get fuzzy on that fact until I see something like your post that reminds me. Even seeing or hearing the word "shame" makes me blush a little. What's up with that?

Clearly, it is an area that I should explore more deeply, but it is just easier to go on thinking that my problems are the result of the things that I am ashamed about, not the underlying shame itself.

It is good to see you post. Keep fighting the good fight.
