Cool, you met him as well! I went to see Henry IV (parts 1 and 2) in July, and he was absolutely lovely and friendly when we asked for autographs and photos. In fact, pretty much *everyone* who has gone to see him in this and waited at the stage door has said he was lovely.
I think he's genuinely surprised and pleased that people have travelled (quite long distances, in some cases) to go and see him on stage, which just makes him seem that much more sweet and adorable.
(just followed the link you dropped in the J/B prompt comm, if you're wondering how I found this post)
The guys at SFX said the same thing the next day when they asked how the performance was. It's great when people are like that, I've met some people who are quite abrupt.
He seemed surprised when we asked for photos. I only live a ten minute train ride away and have been working in Bath recently. The Theatre Royal is my local theatre, so I feel pretty lucky really. He was lovely.
(Hehe, figured as much. Beard beard beard =DDD The Captain Jackness of Part 2 was rather nommy too...)
I'd travelled from the East Midlands, and the person I went with had come down from Cumbria, so we had actually made quite long journeys, primarily to see Ben in the plays (we made a holiday of the weekend as well, but we were mainly there to see Ben to be honest). It was well worth the journey, though - the plays were brilliant, Ben was awesome on stage, and we only met him for a few minutes but I don't think we stopped squeeing for the rest of the weekend after that!
I've yet to see anyone who has met him say a single bad thing about the man, which is awesome. Sometimes with actors or celebrities you wonder if it's just an act they put on for the fans, but all reports suggest that Ben does seem to be genuinely that nice and friendly.
