Ground Rules

I had posted some concerns in a LJ community, and the basic consensus was to either wait to get a puppy until after I move out or let my family know how this whole experience is going to go down. Since I am already way too excited and mentally prepared about owning this dog, I know that it would physically break my heart to back out now. So that ( Read more... )

No, it is not fenced at all. :/ We just have an electric fence for our previous lab and the current min pin. Only one other yard in my neighbourhood is fenced and we are surrounded by woods and corn fields. It would be whippet heaven if she was loose, but a heart-wrenching disaster for me. x_x However, I am trying to locate some places where she could have a good free run and not get into mischief. Having some trouble though...

Ah, finally some food advice! I've looked everywhere for potential whippet food. I thought I'd settled on Chicken Soup, because it seems to be comparable to other more expensive kibbles. What do you think about it?

Haha yeah getting into the routine will be awesome. Just the initial part will be a bit taxing I think!

I've heard of all those that you mentioned! Yay! I know that the places around here carry the Natura products, but I'm not sure about EVO. I will call around and see what my options are.

I will definitely ask the breeder. I have a list of questions going for when I meet her in person.

I don't trust electric fences either, but my parents don't want a real fence. I will ask them about setting up a run in the far back yard. Can't hurt to try! We do have a pretty big basement though... I could move some chairs out of the way and she could run from one end to the other no problem. For when I do move out next year I WILL be adding a fence to whatever yard I have to avoid this headache. Ughh.. -headdesk-
