a pug is my last-case dog--- I know a woman who has this white pug, so cute... but even with his nasal passages fixed, it makes a lot of noise, it slobbers a bit and it's too energetic and loud for me to be able to, let's say... take it to the office and work... it is a high-maintenance dog, and that's a problem.

Have you thought about Boston Terriers? Or what do you think of your friend's Frenchie?

Boston Terrier's are adorable as babies, but when they grow, they become a little too wiry and harder to cuddle with... I love my godsister's French bulldog, but I'm not personally one for the smushed faces--she loves them, i prefer the Labrador retriever face... long, but not too long snout (it can be short, which I actually find cute, as long as it is developed beyond the wrinkly smushed look) with the slightly pointy face, but not too pointy, just rounded enough, with that cute wet nose and warm eyes look... like a golden retriever when they are puppies, or a miniature golden lab doodle in the puppy stage--before it grows and becomes the poodle look-alike, and gets hyper and stuff... I'm hyper enough as is, if I had a hyper dog, nobody would be able to stand being around me. It also has to be small enough for me to be able to take it with me to all these different places easily, and it can't shed, because I want to be able to cuddle my doggy at night without suffocating and scratching my face off.

and beagles are cute too--but once again, too energetic and high maintenance. I need something small, that looks like this, that doesn't shed or slobber and that is more loyal, low maintenance, sleepy and cuddly than it is bounding with energy.
