My Declaration of Independence from MTV lol

We as Americans have the right to listen and enjoy music, which varies from different genres. This right has been mocked and enjoyments of watching music videos have been depleted by the big time station know as MTV. MTV has not lived up to its own name, music television, and this problem needs to cease

the problem with switching to an all "music television" station would cause a spillover in the supply of music, which in this case, would be a good thing... and a bad thing too

oh i would also like to add if the ologopoly fails it will lead to a pure competition market (were entrance is easy and there are no government regulations) so we would have 02394802302842 music video channels doing nothing but trying to show up one another, thus, advertisers don't know which one they should advertise on more becuase the cost of advertising would more then likely outway the profit they would make. thus, the pure competion fails, spillover happends and all channels fail.

first, that was a unbelivable farfetched and overexaggerated scenerio of what would happen

i was just showing, based on economic theory, the economical cost of switching back to playing music videos and music oriented shows. because of this, mtv loses it's target audience and thus loses a lot of advertising because the advertisers lose money because profit does not exced output cost. because of this mtv COULD go under and because they own 3 of the top 4 music channels (MTV, MTV 2, VH1, and FUSE) and there are 6 total channels, CMT, MTVU, and VH1 Classic. therfor MTV owns 50 percent of the market (and in accuallity it's prolly more around 60% based on viewers.) Thats almost double market share and ogopoly usually owns (25 to 33
