TITLE: Words
SUMMARY: Donghae pulled away and tapped Hyukjae's nose. "Let's make it into a full song, ne?"
PAIRING: EunHae, fluff.
Donghae entered the room quietly, closing the door behind him as gently as he could. He let his eyes roam around the room before smiling fondly as he found the object of his affections sleeping while slumped on the desk. He approached him and brushed a few strands of stray hair from the older man's face.
As much as he wanted not to disturb Hyukjae's sleep, he knew that he had to wake the other up. After all, sleeping in that position could result to a sore back and a much sorer neck.
"Hyukjae..." He stroked the other's cheek lighlty.
There wasn't any response but he didn't really expect one.
"Hyuk, I'm going to carry you, alright?"
Hyukjae groaned when he was lifted from his seat and was settled into Donghae's arms, but he did not wake. Instead, he seemed to have fallen deeper into sleep.
Donghae smiled fondly and proceeded to tuck the older man into bed. He dropped a kiss on Hyukjae's cheek before going to his loved one's uncharacteristically disorganized desk. An eyebrow rose up as he saw numerous papers on the said desk, each paper containing words.
Lyrics?
Curiosity getting better of him (as it often did), he picked a random paper and read the four lines written there. The words were beautiful, but it didn't make sense yet. He began reading another one, this time the page contained six lines. The next one he picked up had ten, the next had fifteen, the next twenty.
By the time he had found the completed lyrics, tears were already flowing down his cheeks. It didn't take a genius to figure out what had inspired Hyukjae to write these kinds of words.
July fifth was just around the corner...
He wiped his tears and fixed the papers before squeezing himself into Hyukjae's bed and hugging the older man close. They all had their ways of coping with things and he knew that writing was Hyukjae's just as he knew that Leeteuk's coping technique was keeping himself as busy as possible.
He sighed and kissed Hyukjae on the lips. "Sweet dreams, Hyuk."

Hyukjae woke up to find that a certain person had wrapped himself around him, but he wasn't surprised. It had happened daily for the past three years or so after all, and he had long gotten past the stage where he would jump up with widened eyes and exclaim, "Yah! What are you doing here again?!"
These days, he would snuggle closer to Donghae and would wait until the younger man opens his eyes.
Today, as soon as Donghae does, he smiles and whispers, "Good morning, sleepy head."
"Morning, Hyuk."
They spend the next minutes staring at each other before Donghae speaks. "I read your lyrics."
The other's eyes scrunch up in confusion before they widen once he comprehended what Donghae meant. "W-What? H-How?"
"You left your drafts lying around yesterday and I just happened to come by them. "
Hyukjae blushed before pouting. He had actually just finished the lyrics the night before and had planned to show Donghae once he was ready. "That didn't mean you could just go and read them."
Donghae chuckled. "Aw, Hyukkie...Of course I had to read them! It's the natural order of things."
The other rolled his eyes heavenward and turned away. But a few minutes later, he turned again to face Donghae. "How was it?"
Donghae smiled and placed his forehead against Hyukjae's before kissing him softly on the lips. "Beautiful."
"Thank you, Hae."
Donghae pulled away and tapped Hyukjae's nose. "Let's make it into a full song, ne?"
Hyukjae nodded.

Two weeks later, in the privacy of a currently empty dancing studio, Donghae was standing in front of Hyukjae, singing the lyrics Hyukjae had written woven with a melody the younger himself had composed.
"Wow." Hyukjae breathed as soon as the younger had finished singing. "That was so good, Hae. It's perfect."
Donghae entwined his fingers with Hyukjae's and smiled. "Of course it was. After all, we are the perfect combination. So it stands to reason that anything we do would turn out to be perfect too."
---
A week after that, eleven members were recording the very same song to be added to their repackaged album.
There were tears and hugs and whispered gratitudes but most importantly, there were heartfelt smiles on each of their faces.
Baby, say goodbye. For a short while, goodbye.
We'll wait.

A/N: Short, I know. I wrote this to make up for my first EunHae fic because I know that several people hate me right now for killing Hyuk off (I should know since I hate myself too). Um, so yeah, comments please. XD
