Mikey uses the term "benefit" loosely hah. When all of them went to Vegas and one of my friends couldn't go, they offered to throw a benefit so he could. But no, not sick, just going to be facing some hefty fees in the upcoming months, and they wanted to help me out cause they're really nice.

I like This American Life also, it is played on our local public radio station KCRW.

Awww I miss KCRW. So much. I don't think OPB or our local broadcast here is half as good. But we have a local version of Sounds Ecclectic that puts an emphasis on Portland music, and that's always nice.

Nights like tonight I really miss So Cal.

What's your favorite This American Life episode?

I have so many, but I've listened to "In Dog We Trust" a ton, and my recent disheartening fav is "Competition." Sometimes I wish I had married Ira! Instead, well, who even knows what will happen.

P.S. I've been wearing the shirts you got me years ago recently. Whenever I see them I get thrown back to you playing piano on the Queen Mary. I miss you a lot.

I love: Harold, Godless America, House at Loon Lake, Heretics, the part of the episode of "Conventions" where John Perry Barlow talks about his soulmate (if you don't cry during that episode, you're soul is dead), "The Super" has that amazing act from Jack Hitt, plus Jack Hitt does an equally funny story on "Fiasco!" Also, I love "My Big Break" with the couple who were on Sullivan before the Beatles...hilarious ( ... )

i think about you too. a lot in fact. i miss having friends of the quality you were. I really do. I thought about the meet up at the queen mary recently too. That was such a great trip, with the execption of the girl i was dating those days.

I'll revisit "In Dog We Trust" and "Competition" tomorrow. I know i've listened to both of those episodes before, but I can't pull a standout moment from the top of my head right now.
