Built in the 1850s as a gaol it became an official ward of the Ararat Lunatic Assylum "J" of an alphabetical system of wards (they wanted G for Gaol but it was taken already) in 1889 when the gaol was taken over by the Government's Lunacy Department. Training was in MENTAL HEALTH!!! LOL. How to deal with people who are suffering from mental illness, who are behaving in a manner which is characteristic of one who is "troubled" in some way. Placement Day 2
Change of plans on placement. No preppies today. Instead I did a number of articulation surveys of children in grades 1 and 3, and I wrote up reports about them, and did some general scut work like photocopying, stuffing envelopes and other admin crap. nothing exciting
Visited pigs at mum and dad's today. They are lovely. They both ran and hid in their little house when I went to say hello to them- Typical pig behaviour. Dumpling submitted to a cuddle tho. They are coming home tomorrow ( Read more... )
