Short Summary/Comments: Syuusuke waits with Yuuta at the bus stop.
The air was cool, the sky clear enough that the stars twinkled brightly through the wispy clouds that helped obscure the view of the moon rising heavily above the horizon. Fuji tucked his hands deeply in his pockets and watched his breath fog out in front of his face.
"You don't have to wait with me, Aniki," Yuuta complained softly.
Fuji smiled gently, turning his head slightly towards his younger brother. "It's such a lovely evening though."
Yuuta rolled his eyes briefly then peered out into the growing twilight when he heard the low rumble of the bus engine. He hitched his bag higher on his shoulder.
"Have a safe trip."
There was a featherlight touch of a hand resting against his arm for a heartbeat and then it was gone. Yuuta looked to his left and his brother was still smiling over at him, watching him through slitted eyes.
"Thank you."
After he climbed aboard the bus and settled himself in a seat Yuuta allowed himself to glance out the window to where his brother remained standing on the platform. He raised his hand in a quick wave then dropped it back to his lap and returned his gaze to the seat back in front of himself. The engine rumbled enthusiastically and the bus began pulling away from the curb, taking him away from his home and back to school.
He didn't have to look anymore to know that his brother didn't move until the bus turned the far corner and disappeared from sight. It was becoming a tradition. There would be more late-night bus trips and Syuusuke would be there to keep him company, whether he wanted him there or not. The thought made him smile in spite of himself. That's what brothers were for.
