I spoke with my uncle and depending on the circumstances you should jump on that band wagon. If you came home and your down was open, that's breaking and entering, paired with the cost of a pure breed dog, that's a felony. You report it, if one officer doesn't take it seriously, ask to speak with his superior, if he says he's unavailable, ask for his superior's card and hours he will be available. Once you get a report filed, make a copy and fax it with a cover sheet about a rash of animal stealings to every news station. Send it to fox news, email to reporters specifically and individually (my public relations friend passed on this tip), different people read the emails, one may take pitty on you, but exaggerate and tell them you fear this could happen to anyone with an expensive dog. Just keep at it, constant faxes and emails and phone calls, emails especially because reporters often do check their own email from time to time. i called the cops the day of. they came 4 hours later. he half-assed it and then said he would write up a report. i'm going to call tomorrow and see where that is.

Webisites for local news stations have all the information on them. I don't reside in LA anymore and have since lost most of that info. But you should email the above story attatc hed, and have your friends email too, the key is to get sympathy, someone will probably have lost a dog or cat and recall the heartache and do something about this
