Last night my dear friend Conrad made a hilarious analogy to a Silverback and one of our friends.
I still can't decide if it was a compliment.

The gorilla in that picture died of a heart attack a while ago. I'm sorry.

Yea, I know. He was one of the smartest Gorilla's to date, knowing over 500 modern signs in sign language. And although all over that so great... I still think it was VERY fucked that he had to be treated as a guinie pig in a way.

What's even worse was that he was sort of portrayed as second best to Koko.The thing I find amazing about Michael was how he recounted his mother being slaughtered in the jungle, and men carrying him away to captivity, so to speak. Even though he was a science experiment, it's pretty awesome that he learned ASL, plus he was a pretty bad ass painter!
