[ England has been super quiet lately, and you're probably wondering what kind of devious scheme he's been up to! No devious schemes, sadly. He's been chilling in his apartment doing... well he's been doing something. What this something is becomes glaringly obvious when you see the 'help desk' he's set up in the Marshall lobby ( Read more... )

[A small boy pauses and regards the sign with mild amusement. After watching for a moment he speaks up in an undeniably British voice.]

My goodness, is there a high demand for such a service?

It rather seems like it would be. I haven't been here for very long, but it doesn't seem like many people are very concerned with writing. Or schooling, really. I suppose it is a good thing it was still the summer hols at home.

They're also very unconcerned about the quality of tea, the weather, and other sorts of important things here. The least I can do is try to keep the semblance of respectfulness.

Summer holiday should have ended by now, I believe.

Writers don't depend on their settings to write; they write when inspiration strikes them. Discedo may be nothing more than a giant rubbish heap, but that doesn't excuse artists from putting aside their crafts.

[Here, have a young girl walking around aimlessly around the building. She eventually makes her way to the lobby, taking notice of the sign.]

Very much. I'll look over your style, language, grammar and mechanics, and if we have enough time, your story's plot as well.

[ ... ] It's a highly in demand service, you see.

Really? I didn't think many people here had an interest in writing...

I'm sure many people do, they're just too shy to share it.

[You have caught the attention of an actual professional writer, he's a bit skeptical about this though.]

Why would anyone pay for this? That's what editors are for.

Editors receive a portion of profits, don't they? My services are almost the exact same.

And they work for publishing companies, which means that they get no more than the publisher and the work is put to press. Which, in the end is the goal right? You sound like an unneeded middle man.
