Today we went to Stoke on Trent, to the Wedgewood factory. We spent enough that our VAT refund covered the freight home. Which is probably better than carrying it around and risking breakage and/or excess baggage on the way home. It will probably arrive home before we do

I would love all of it! Britain is one of my dream trips. I keep trying to imagine what it's like for you both, based on the Bill Bryson book I read last year.

Sorry it's cold and gets dark early, but I'm glad you're having a great time.

(I had the opposite experience in Russia; I'd wake up at 3:30 a.m. and it was still bright outside!)
