I thought about blushing modestly, "Shucks!", but I have come to realise that it really is quite an achievement. OK, not on a par with climbing Everest or flying to the moon, or saving lives or stuff like that, but when I was thin I never realised how difficult it could be to lose weight, especially a lot of weight. A lot of people say that they wish they could do it, and the truth is that wishing isn't what you need to do. If wishes were horses, poor men would ride! It does take a certain determination, and I'm very pleased with myself for sticking it out. I just hope I don't fall too heavily off the wagon this weekend, because I still have a little way to go.
