I would very much like to put your football graphic and icons on a t-shirt at cafepress (along with your lj username) so that we can have football t-shirts. Would this be ok?
If there is any profit made from the t-shirt sales, I thought we could use them to give other people paid LJ accounts as gifts. Would this be ok too?
(omgsqueebounce this is still the OFFICIAL OFFICIAL Football Banner and Graphics for the chapters *I* write. *loves madly*)
OMGYAY, that would be so cool. And I still get all squeey over the fact that you like my stupid graphic. Hee!
However, I see a few problems with your otherwise brilliant (& very flattering, omg t-shirts with my graphic!) plan.
First problem: It's too small for a t-shirt print. It's only 500(-ish) pixels wide and 72 dpi, and cafepress.com recommends a minimum 100 dpi and 1000 pixels wide for a front print. What all the numbers add up to: For this to work, I'd have to re-do the whole thing, from scratch. Which I think could work, and wouldn't mind doing if it wasnt for problem #2.
Which is that this is very much not legal and if cafepress has rules against it (for fear of being sued, I suppose). If they follow through on their own rules, they won't allow it. I quote: "NO photos, logos, caricatures, or other artwork depicting celebrities, such as Michael Jackson or Madonna, or other third parties. Just because you take a photograph of a celebrity does not give you the right to use that photograph on merchandise,
( ... )
Ok. Let's not do anything illegal (hee!). Then a good compromise would be a football logo on the front/pocket area -- like, just the words 'football by deleerium' or something then I could just put quotes from the story across the back in plain lettering (like, "allthewaysex" and "beltloop" and...whatever the hell else anyone can think up.
Ok. *sigh* That's sad because how cool would that be? But thank you THANK you for pointing that out -- *palmface* it didn't even occur to me there would be a problem. I'm still going to do a little hunting (like maybe finding a small local screening co. to turn a blind eye and do the whole graphic -- maybe just for you, me, summerfly and veggie as secret prezzies or something). But for CafePress we'll go back to our original concept of just quoting the story. *sigh again*
But squeee! thank you so much for saying yes -- that's the coolest.
