College Identity Crisis

So we have to present our college choices tomorrow in Musical Theatre and it's really scaring me. I mean, I didn't do that much research, just went to Collegeboard.com, printed stuff out and highlighted it. So my presentation will probably suck but that's not that point. Well . . . some colleges are better for particular areas of study than others. If you're going to study theatre, let's say you have a choice between NOVA and VCU. NOVA is nice and close to you, VCU is down here in Richmond. For starters. NOVA doesn't even have a theatre program of study, whereas VCU does, and a rather good one at that. I don't even know if NOVA does theatre. Even between different schools which offer theatre, some programs have more to offer than others. If you pick a school that doesn't offer degrees in technical design, chances are everything is going to be built and designed by faculty, and you won't see anything particularly new. You won't get to work under as unique circumstances as you would at, say, VCU. I feel it's important, when you're studying, to get as many different kinds of experience as possible--the more varied your experience, the better prepared you'll be to do any kind of work in the professional world. Aye, dudette its the same thing for me. Money doesn't mean everything much like Ivy League schools dont. Anyways, yeah, good luck with your choices.

Well, if it makes you feel any better I have no idea what college I want to go to OR what I want to major in - I'm leaning towards wither something involving Theatre or Business right now, though.
