not related to this entry really. But, help is down and i need info on something and thought you might know. I want to post an entry, but i don't want a certain person on my friends list to be able to read it, is there a way to put the security level at a way so that only certain friends can read it?
is this your own review? if so i kind of disagree with #2 and i thought finding neverland was amazing! seriously that movie moved me to tears. i'd also have to give garden state at least a top 3 slot, but i'm a hardcore garden state fan i commend you for at least the honorable mention. to each his own, i guess. and you should see in good company (very good) i also heard that ray and the motorcycle diaries were excellent too.. they're on my to see list.
p.s. to lady nouveau, you could make a friends group leaving the person out of that group and then update so that only that group can see your entry, i think you can do it just by clicking on the "..." next to friends on your lj home page
Finding Neverland was, for me, REALLY boring and manipulative. It was just so cliched in its very nature that I found myself rolling my eyes more than once. Performances were good from Johnny and Kate, (I think people made too much of a big deal about Mr. Highmore's average performance), but overall...this film was just too melodramatic and typical for me to enjoy it.
Before Sunset actually fights for my #1 spot right now. What made you dislike it being at #2?
Oh, and I absolutely ADORED Garden State...I mean seriously, I really really really do...but for some reason, I can't seem to bring myself to put it on the top 12. Actually, it was between that and Saved! and Saved! was, IMO, one of the best satires of last year. Garden State, however, does hold a special place in my heart, (Deserved Oscar noms, no doubt about that.)
I disagree with Passion of the Christ. Although maybe my vote doesn't count as the three times i've tried watching it, i've fallen asleep. The fact it was in hebrew was nifty, but i don't think it deserved all the hype it got
Personally, that and Hotel Rwanda count for two of the most physically exhausting and powerful films I've ever watched in a movie theater. When the film is over, you can barely breathe. I know a lot of people had issues with this film, and while I can't defend some aspects of it, I feel that as a standalone film, it is brilliant. However, had Mel Gibson made a trilogy of Jesus (The Birth, The Passion, and The Ressurrection) this film may have come to be more accepted. Because as it is, this is as close as you'll ever get to seeing the real thing.
