your sentiment is nice, and I'm not trying to be a dick, but maybe go back and take a look at the catholic church's involvement in things during the last forty years or so, and I think you'll get a very different picture of what sort of man he was.

Oh, I'm sure he made a few mistakes and such, but he was the only Pope I ever knew... that's reason enough for me, ;).
