Interview part deux

captainblack asks these .
#1: What was the coolest (or one of them anyway) dream that you've ever had?

I had a dream once where I was resting under a tree, and I was content . That was one of the most pleasing dreams I had.

Another time, I had this dream one time where I was running along a path following arbninja and _earthshine_ through the woods at arbninja’s parent’s place. In the dream I slipped, fell, broke my neck, and died instantly. As a ghost I then flew back to the office where two other college friends scolded me for losing another body, and a third ignored me while playing some sort of pirate game on the computer needed to assign me a new body. That was the funniest dream I’ve ever had. From what I remember I got the sense that I’d lost multiple physical bodies, and being a ghost seemed perfectly normal.

#2: When you are chilling with your wee daughter, do you pick up on pre-rational baby thoughts pseudo telepathically? This happens to me with my cats, and since I am not a parent, I don't know if babies are similar. So, I am curious.

When she was an infant, I’d get that sense yeah. But she’s three now, and she tells me what she’s thinking pretty much non-stop. I’m biased in thinking that it is cute, but most of the folk she talks to seem to be amused.

#3: How many years do you think it will take to make the U.S. somewhat sane again politically? An optimistic estimate.

I’m going to assume that by “somewhat sane” you mean the environment post Nixon, but before Clinton. I think it’s going to take at least until 2012, but more likely 2016 or later. The executive branch needs to switch parties in 2008, and then eventually the Republicans need to be back in the white house with a Gerald Ford or George H. Bush. Someone that is clever enough to hide the criminal activities, yet smart enough to try to reach consensus and let the opposing party hang themselves. Also, it would help if we no longer had troops in harm’s way.

#4: If you and I had met when we were younger and partying, what would a typical saturday night have been like if we were good pals?

Fear and Loathing in Ann Arbor I’m guessing. If you partied as hard as I think you did, I think the two of us partying together would have been very bad for our livers, and the coeds susceptible to crazy drunks spouting weird philosophies and mysticism.

#5: As you've gotten older, what spiritual awakenings are you most thankful for?

I’m more comfortable with myself as I grow older, more willing to forgive what I have seen in the past as defections and inadequacies. I’m more comfortable with the fact that I do have value as an individual, and my worth comes from within, not from others.
