[Just because something is normal doesn't make it nice.

[As soon as he realizes what it is he's watching (watching again, to be more accurate: the details may differ but the dram's the same) which takes about five seconds, Ken's instinct is to get up and go see if Minoru's okay, and he very nearly chucks the Dreamberry down then and there and goes after him. He watches through to the end anyway - he doesn't really know why, call it some sense of obligation - before getting up off his bed and, tossing the Dreamberry back onto the bed, walking over to Minoru's room and pushing open the door.

[Ken never really knows what to say at times like this. All he can think of to do is to keep it light, at least for now.]

This is why I hate doing night shifts round you guys. You okay?

[Minoru hears the door open - and for a split second wonders if he's still dreaming and it'll be Akito again - before he hears Ken's voice and visibly relaxes.]

Heh. 'course 'm fine. [He's quite aware that the position he's in - half curled up on the bed left hand clutching at his right wrist, face still twisted in some sort of grimace - isn't particularly convincing, but that's not the point here.]

Couldya filter it from Mom and Dad? [...The last thing he needed was them barging in.]

[You don't look fine: Ken's tempted to say that, but he doesn't. He's tempted to ask, as he always is, what the Hell is with that dream?-- he ignores it, just the same way he's always done. Whatever it is, it's clearly a private thing for Minoru - so private that after years of living with the guy Ken still doesn't know what the deal there is. If he wants to tell him, he will: that's how Ken figures it. Otherwise it's really none of his business.

[It's none of their parents' business either - not unless Minoru wants it to be. He smiles slightly.]

Sure, give it here?

[Casually, Ken snaps his fingers and gestures vaguely in the direction of Minoru's Dreamberry, holding his hand out as if waiting for the thing to be handed - or tossed - to him.]

You wanna cup of tea or anything? 's no big, I'm already up...

Thanks...

[And he gets the cue, tossing the Dreamberry over from where it rests on the bedside table - and hopes his aim was good enough. Slowly, the pain recedes - or at least enough for him to disregard it. Minoru sits up, folding his legs in front of him.

Ken was 'round the same age as him, a little younger though. He liked him. He was nice. Even if they weren't really "brothers" in the same way with Sakuya and Akito, Ken was also there.]

'm good. Wasn't bad this time... Unless you want some.
