Bloody hell, they sound like a nightmare! I don't blame you for moving out or stealing back your cheque. Hehe. There's no point staying somewhere where you feel uncomfortable. I've been through the same but obviously under different circumstances.

I say definitely dont give them the check back and if you pay them again for the £12 you actually owe don't give them the £15, they sound like absolute dicks and I don't blame you for wanting to move out.

I hope you get the deposit back, that sounds like such a shitty situation.
