Actually, on the topic of the Qur'an, it offers conflicting "truths" as well.

Initially it states that any one not "believing in God nor the Last Day; nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by God and His Apostle, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book..." should be fought (not necessarily literally) and made to pay Jizya. Jizya is, for lack of a better term, a "religious tax." Islam allows the existence of other religions under it's blanket, as long as those who have these opposing beliefs are willing to pay jizya.

However, further on, the Qur'an then makes the statement that all people who claim Allah has a son or co-equal partners has to convert to Islam or die.

So, which is it? Should we pay a fine and go about our merry Jesus-worshiping way? Or convert to Islam under penalty of death?

To me, it all just reeks of wanting to have your cake and eat it too ;)
