I've heard you mention Ben Aaronovich before. A visit to the library might be order.

I love owls, too. There's something so mysterious about them, but they're so purty!

Whenever I visit a zoo or animal park of some kind, I will skip the bird section. Except owls...I can stand and watch them for ages.

We don't have a lot of owls around here. But there's one close by when we go to the coast. I love hearing them hoot in the night. Surprisingly, it doesn't annoy me at all (like a barking dog does), but I find it really relaxing instead.

Love the barn owl, Mike. I was on a narrow boat two years ago when one flew over just a few feet above the water - several times - and during that day I had exhausted the battery on my camera. It was wonderful to see the creature, but oh, I wish I had a photo.

Hello Anon. I have only seen a barn owl in the wild on one occasion - as far as I know anyway. Your narrow boat experience sounds fantastic. I would love to have seen photos too.

Love the owl picture, mate. Those dark eyes hold secrets we will never discover. Sorry about your back. And thanks for all the info on books coming out. Garry (I can't see how to rid myself of the 'anonymous' here).
