This is going to be one of those "all about me" posts where I rant about my life which is clouded by indecision and the unknown. So Im definatly contemplating moving back to Thunder Bay. I think this would be a positive move in my life. It wouldnt be a permanent move by any means but just for a couple of years until I figure out what is going on

I can totally see how you are feeling the preassure from your family in Calgary. I am starting to feel pressure from MY family regarding this fucking teaching shit. I like the idea of the art/music school organization. It would be a ton of work, and getting grants from the government (especially ones from the Ontario Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts) are EXTREMELY difficult. I took one half credit course that was ALL about how to apply for grants and things like that, and from an artists' perspective, it is not somehing you are guatranteed to get. You have to be REALLY fucking good, have a VERY impressive protfolio, and you have to propose something that the stooges on the review board are interested in. That being said, I am not sure how these grants work when you apply for them as an organization. The people at DefSup will be a good resource for info regarding grants and such. I understand the whole steve and sarah thing as well. even with the way mine and kaitlin's relationship has been growing, people's priorities

Well I wouldnt use grants from organizations as a primary source of funding...more like a backup. I have ideas for tons of other ways to raise money which would put applying for grants in the back seat but Id try anyways. Id get money from the govt for sure. They guarantee a certain amount of funding when you start which may be good for when I am starting out. Anyways...any thoughts about me moving to Thunder Bay?
