Haha, it's okay. Welcome to the LJ. I'm finally doing something with this thing instead of the rare post, sooo maybe there'll be interesting stuff to read soon. ;-)
Well, I hope you enjoy your adventures, and I'm glad it will be at least a year before you go, that way your awesome stories will continue for a while! lol And the part about eating things without knowing what they are is funny. You are not like me. I check everything before I put it in my mouth. Twice. I would never make it backpacking through SE Asia. lol I'd be like "OMG there's no Chipotleeeee! Where are my eyelash curlersss?" lol
Oh man, I use to be soooo bad about making sure I knew what I was eating (just in case it had mushrooms in it!). I really got over that by necessity when I was living in Hong Kong and China. Though I always had American food if I reeeeally needed itin Hong Kong.
Oh jeez, I loved most of the stuff we had when we went to dim sum, but I especially liked these sweet egg buns. I'm not sure what they're really called in english, but it's a sweet down wrapped round an egg custard. SO delicious. We all went mad over them and always made our Chinese friends order more for us whenever we went out for dim sum.
We also got addicted to anything with red bean while in China. We would have these breakfast buns with red bean filling and I'm so mad I can't find any here in America. So delicious.
