Hankyung was busy helping Henry with his shirt when Yesung came in. The latter smiled at the scene laid on his eyes. His eldest son was busy jumping around the room, running away from Kibum who was probably a victim of his mischief before. Henry was giggling in Hankyung’s arms, watching his brothers running around like mad. “Yoochun-ah, Kibum-ah, be careful!”
“Wookie-ah” Joomyuk hugged the teary eyed boy in his arms “Come on now, Hae hyung already apologized right? Don’t cry…” and in the background, Siwon was lecturing little Donghae for ripping his little brother’s teddy bear off. Heechul was talking to Jaejoong on the phone, not quite noticing the ruckus.
On the other side of the phone, Jaejoong was holding the phone in his left hand while his right hand was playing punching with his youngest son, Changmin. The twins, Hyukjae and Junsu, were punching the game pads like mad, eyes glued to the TV screen and Yunho was seriously contemplating of getting rid of the machine as soon as he can. Video games would not do any good to his children at this rate.
Key was humming softly while preparing Taemin’s milk. Jonghyun and Minho have yet to return from school but Onew was already back from work. Key thought it was very cute how baby Taemin got all whiny and noisy when his appa was home. “Appa! Appaaa~~!” there he goes again. “Taemin-ah, appa just wanna go get your milk. Stay right there okay?” Key could hear Taemin’s giggly ‘okay’ and turned to see a smiling Onew on the kitchen door. Then suddenly Onew turned and laughed. “Taemin-ah, appa said you should stay there!” then he was gone from Key’s view and Taemin’s squealing could be heard from the living room. Key smiled happily.
Leeteuk, who was welcoming his husband and children on the door, frowned. “Sungmin-ah” he said slowly “What is that in your hand?” Sungmin pouted and Kangin sighed. Sungmin has brought home a quite dirty black and white puppy. Shindong just giggled and strode inside, pinching Kyuhyun’s cheeks on the way. “I wanna give it to Henny and Chun hyung loves puppy too…” Sungmin puffed his cheeks. Leeteuk closed his eyes. Now how was he supposed to explain that Henry was too young to keep a puppy while both of his elder brothers were allergic to the animal?
Whenever the four brothers held family reunion, the wifes have to be extra cautious. There was never a family reunion without something bad happened to the children, most of them bound to be extremely hyperactive. This year they were reuniting in Yunho’s house. To make it easier, Jaejoong had the games hidden somewhere and thanks to Siwon, Yunho had decided to hide Changmin’s bear, just in case Donghae declared a war against biting animals again.
Kibum was teaching Changmin and Kyuhyun how to play snake and ladder, and it was a full war once the two had grasped the rules. Beside them, Henry was playing with his penguin plushie. Taemin, who usually was noisy with Onew around, were surprisingly quiet but never letting go of Henry’s sleeve, watching the 3.5 years old while biting his own candy cane doll.
“Umma” Minho tugged at Key’s shirt “I’ve finished the bun. Where is the garbage bin?” Key smiled at him. “Ask Joongie ahjumma, dear” Minho turned to Jaejoong but hid his face in Key’s lap when he saw Jaejoong was looking kindly at him. Heechul and Leeteuk laughed while Jaejoong cooed at how cute Minho was being. Minho shyly looked up and mumbled “Joongie ahjumma…where is the garbage bin?” Jaejoong stood and took Minho’s hand gently, pointing to the direction of the kitchen. Minho mumbled a small ‘thank you’ and ran off to the kitchen.
Meanwhile, Henry was busy trying to climb up Yesung’s lap (the parents were sitting on the couch) and refused any help from the adults in the room. When he succeeded he was grinning cutely and the others were clapping their hands. Baby Taemin too tried to climb up his appa’s lap but epically failed. Surprisingly he only pouted and Onew lifted him up. “Appa~~” he whined again “Mino ‘yung?”
“Minho hyung was off to search the garbage bin, Minnie-ah”
On the other side of the couch, Henry had moved to Hankyung’s lap and perched there, watching his umma talking to Heechul. “How come you guys have a cute boy like Henry? He doesn’t look like you two at all” Henry did not react, only poking at his penguin plushie when he heard Jaejoong scolded Heechul. “Hyung, don’t be like that! Henry obviously has Yesung hyung’s cheeks….and don’t you dare saying things like that in front of Henry again! What if he got the wrong idea?”
“Jae, Jae…the boy doesn’t even understand what’s ‘adopted’ means…”
Henry titled his head.
“No, but he’s obviously listening! What if he asks what’s adopted means? How will you answer him?”
“Hmm…” Heechul rubbed his chin and spotted Minho watching Kyuhyun and Changmin from the corner of his eyes. He grinned. “…how about ‘things that taken from the garbage bin?’”
Hankyung’s jaw dropped and Leeteuk whacked Heechul behind his head, scolding him for giving the ideas. No one noticed that Kyuhyun has stopped playing when he heard what Heechul had said. Soon, Changmin, Kibum and Minho noticed too and looked at Henry.
Meanwhile, Henry has this first mathematic equation in his little 3.5 years old head:
Henry was adopted.
Adopted is taken from garbage bin.
Bum 'yung said garbage bin was the place for bad things.
“Henry was adopted” + “Bum 'yung said garbage bin was the place for bad things” = Henry was a bad thing.
Kibum watched in horror when Henry’s eyes started to tear up.
“WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA~~~~~~”
Kibum zoomed to his baby brother and hugged him, not forgetting to send a death glare to Chul ahjumma. Soon, the older boys who were playing in another room came running, because Henry was rarely wailed so loud despite being a very shy boy.
“WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!”
This time, it was Jonghyun who was running and fetch his 2 years old brother. Taemin was crying so loud, helping Henry making the situation merrier than before.
“Now look at what you’ve done…” Yunho grumbled and watching Changmin, who was also joining Kibum in sending Heechul death glares. Heechul still stunned. Was Henry a genius or what, how can he understand what they were talking about? As if could read his mind, Kangin threw a pillow at him. “He has his parents’ brain, unlike you. I bet yours are full of make ups and other things to make Ryeowook a beautiful boy!”
Jaejoong immediately lifted Kibum and Henry while Key lifted Jonghyun and Taemin, running to the twins and Changmin’s bedroom to escape the war that soon will be out. The children followed them. Changmin managed to bite Heechul before he scampered off (and later he will boast to his umma that he had ‘one-touch’ed Chul ‘jumma).
Sungmin crawled to the sniffling Henry and kissed his cheek. Ryeowook and Donghae tugged Joomyuk’s shirt and asked if they could kiss ‘Henny’ too. Joomyuk nodded and cradled Henry when Yoochun went with Shindong to fetch some water. Ryeowook and Donghae kissed Henry’s cheeks and Henry stopped crying right after. Junsu laughed “Wow, Henny likes being kissed!” Hyukjae also laughed. “Yeah, he stopped crying already!”
Kyuhyun poked Changmin and whispered “If I kiss Taemin, will he stop crying too?” Changmin looked like seriously thinking about it for a while and took Kyuhyun’s hand. “Hyun hyung, can we kiss Taemin?” Sungmin and Donghae giggled. Jonghyun patted Taemin’s back softly and said “Okay~”
But even after the kisses, Taemin was still crying. “Awwweee~~ Kyukyu and Minnie failed. Taeminnie doesn’t like you twoooo~” Hyukjae and Junsu teased them….but soon trying to escape the younger boys. Changmin has a sharp teeth and knows how to put it into a good use while Kyuhyun….he had smacked down a boy who was throwing mud to Sungmin not a long time ago.
Meanwhile Joomyuk was watching Henry’s face. It seemed like the boy was thinking something serious. Let’s peek what’s inside his head again.
Someone crying + Kiss on the cheek = No more crying
Looking at hiccupping Taemin for a moment, Henry soon wiggled out of Joomyuk’s hug and crawled to the 2 years old boy in Jonghyun’s arms. When Yoochun and Shindong came back with mineral water in their hands, they found Henry kissed Taemin’s cheeks. Taemin immediately stopped crying and giggled.
Yoochun and Shindong looked at each other.
Wow. Taemin’s first crush is Henry.
“OOH I CAN SEE THE FUTURE!!” Donghae was jumping around on the bed; Minho was bouncing along by the force of his jumps.
“Donghae-ah, no one can see the future” Joomyuk trying to catch his brother before he fell.
“Oh but Hae hyung can! He saw my future right, before!” Ryeowook started jumping happily.
“Wookie, I believe he was tricking you back then” Hyukjae huffed.
“Yeah, umma said only Santa can see future!” Junsu piped in.
“But it’s true! Hae hyung said if I eat Sungmin hyung’s pie then Sungmin hyung will cry! And he did cry!”
Shindong and Yoochun laughed and laughed. That was so Donghae to predict obvious things like that.
“What?? You were the one ate my pie??”
“He also said that clouds will change color from black to white after the big storm over!”
Shindong thought he could not wait to see Ryeowook’s face once he learned about rain and clouds in science class.

Donghae stopped jumping and taking a very close look at Henry and Taemin. The youngest boys were lying down with their hands clasped to each other.

All the boys (and the three adults outside) held their breaths.
“They…will love each other and Henny will be Taeminnie’s prince charming! One day Henny will wake a sleeping Taeminnie up by a kiss on the cheek and they will live happily ever after together in a bedroom full of animal plushies, sweets and cakes, and….”
“….Donghae-ah, stop quoting the Snow White story”
Yoochun leaned to Joomyuk and Shindong, whispering “Myukkie, one day that silly brother of yours will be a good writer I think”
Shindong snorted. “You think so? I bet he will write impossible stories”
“Like what?” Joomyuk asked, a bit confused.
“Like…like….a boy and girl screaming I’M THE KING OF THE WORLD while they are traveling on a small boat?”
“Okay, that’s plain silly…”
At the same time, the rest of the parents in the living room were surprised when Yesung, Jaejoong and Key stormed into the room with uncontrollable laughter and squeals.
