Strong arms hold her close, securing her into a tight embrace, keeping her shaky balance steady. It's not an old memory, or a fabricated dream; it's real. She's back to a world full of colour and life.

She doesn't open her eyes, in fear her balance will fail her, and buries her head deeper into the familiar checked shirt. No one talks, it's very still.

For a moment Annie opens her eyes, sensing George's own, red rimmed, watching her from the corner of the quiet room. She forces her eyes closed once more in fear he'd glimpse the regret betraying her own.

A warm tear drops to her cheek, not her's, but Mitchell's, acting as a catalyst for her own tears.

She cries for her return. Oh God she is, absolutely overjoyed.

However, she cries also in grief, for her loss. No, she would never allow her mind to recall, even for a fraction, where she was going to go. She must forget it all; this was where she belonged now.

She knows there will probably never be a chance again; it was a trial to be granted a resolution in the first place - they, the men with sticks and ropes, would never forgive the actions of her friends.

She would never tell them she was about to be free, finally guaranteed her passage; the welcoming white light beckoning her, just out of reach, pulling her finger tips.

No, she could never tell Mitchell or George that just as they pulled her back to reality, she was about to move on to the next chapter.

She'll never tell them she was inches from passing over.
