Huh? What were my thoughts for the future?

[SILENCE. 13 SECONDS.
NO BREAK IN VIDEO INTERVIEW.]

Well arriving here was something that never even entered my head. Just the fact that there are other worlds out there other than where I come from is enough to blow anybody’s mind. I feel like I’ve been living in a bubble all my life, it’s a little weird. I mean my thoughts for the future didn’t really extend further than getting paid a lot of money and retiring to live in my huge mansion where I’d do a different woman every night and drink my weight in expensive wine all before I hit my thirties.

Guess it kinda’ makes you think though. A lot of the kids here never imagined they’d lived to see past their thirteenth birthday and I’m just bothered about the size of my date’s breasts, whether she’s gonna’ put out, shitting myself through every damn pregnancy scare and how much my bar tab’s gonna’ come to. It’s kinda’ messed up. Yeah.

I just guess that my future has always been kinda’ set up for me. I had a good life when I was a kid, probably better than most kids my age and when I look to the future I just wanna’ get all that back; all the money an’ luxury and not having to give a damn about whether I’m gonna’ have enough cash to afford food or whether I’m gonna’ get offed on my birthday.

[SILENCE. 1 MINUTE 12 SECONDS.
NO BREAK IN VIDEO INTERVIEW.]

I had it good. I want to have it even better.

[SILENCE. 6 SECONDS.

Heh guess this thing turned out to be more about the past than the future. Maybe I don’t think about that kinda’ stuff enough.

future, *video interview
