Doctor Whoooo spoilers for episodes 1 and 2

Doctor Who has returned to our screens and after watching the first two episodes which I enjoyed immensely I started pondering like many others who the titles of the first two episodes are referring to. The episode names are 'The Magician's Apprentice' and 'The Witches Familiar', I will now not only reveal to you who they are referring to, but why

I haven't been following rumors about the show, but if it's indeed Clara's last season, I wonder if she'll leave to, in some place a context, be a/the Doctor. She's already done that twice, and seems to relish the role (plus, as you said, she's being taught the ropes, maybe both by the Doctor and Missy, each for their own reasons).

I can see her either picking the screwdriver or taking the sunglasses when the Doctor does, and jumping into some world/dimension/timeline/whatever where a Doctor is needed and the Doctor shouldn't, can't or doesn't want to go.

Does the Afterlife need a Doctor? Clara's all about the Doctor not dying, so if there's a chance to simultaneously prevent the Doctor from dying, catch up with Danny, help people, and promote herself to full-time Doctor, I think she would.
