Well, folks, one more week, and then I'm 20 years old, and I can finally talk about you damn teenagers, I'm hoping that this year my family remembers it's my birthday, as last time they did not, looks like I won't be getting a tatoo that day though, as no one's got any money, myself included, oh well...

This is where I started talking about love, ( Read more... )

I am generally an opponent of the comic subculture as well, with one exception for me: The Sandman series of graphic novels. They are high literature accompanied by illustration, brimming with subtext and allegory, and I love them nearly as much as my favorite book. You should check them out.

Thank you for the mosquito comment =).

There is only one thing that would make me not want to read the graphic novel The Sandman, and it is the same reason why I hate Extreme Championship Wrestling... For you see, I loved the story The Sandman, the German one about Coppelius, and any time I've tried to research it I get swarmed with unrelated stuff... However, if it comes so highly recommended from you, I'll look into it, which means you should probably look into Saikano, as well.

Will do. The first Sandman comic is a little Kitschy (sp?), a little obviously 80's cheesyish comic, but then Gaiman (the author) gets in a groove and introduces characters from the bible, and mythology (And implements them ACCURATELY). The comics span from urban landscapes, to the pits of hell (creatively and originally conceived), and the storylines vary from how Shakespeare got his spark to child molesting cannibals with mouths for eyes. It just seems like something you would like, just knowing the sort of things you appreciate. And if I am wrong, a prompt slap upon my wimpish Irish wrist is in order. I'll actually go look up Saikano right now. And the answer to hanging out in the 26th: A definite probably =). I wish to very much so, and will do all in my power to make it happen, but must first check my calendar to see how work and school are looking. I do have your address though. Alright, this comment is excessively long, so I will stop right no--

Yes, the first Saikano isn't anything particularly special, it starts out like just about every other love manga where someone they introduce the flaws, "This is blah-blah and he/she is clumsy, blah-blah-blah, I am a bitch/jerk, we go out now," but it gets a lot better... And this Sandman you speak of sounds a bit of alright... I shall go look no--
