BECAUSE DAMMIT! SHE NEEDS HER BROTHERS!!!

Hogsmeade so far had been pretty darn awesome. She'd gotten to hang out with a number of her friends as well as gone to different shops and done the normal Hogsmeade thing. It wasn't too different from last year, she realized, as she walked down the street by herself. But honestly? It was different. Because she'd always made a habit of going to ( Read more... )

Alright, making up with the best mate was complete. The bloke had him worried a bit but hopefully he'd be okay. They were good again now so it would be alright. If the bloke would stop isolating himself so much...

Anyway, now it was time to find Anya. Darin didn't expect this one to go quite nearly as well which might have been why he'd put it off to find Derek first. He'd owed them both better than this but his sister... Screwing over your sibling was a pretty low blow.

Luckily for Darin, he knew exactly the spots Anya was likely to frequent and he spotted her fairly quickly. "None of that's for me, is it?" he asked cheerfully. There didn't seem to be a good way to mention that he was here and Darin just went for normal, as though he hadn't completely ditched her on the train and had in fact been at school all year long. That could work. It was a start anyway.

Anya would have known that voice anywhere. She'd dreamed and imagined her brothers coming back so many times, that she half thought that the sound that was penetrating her ears at the moment was just her imagination running wild again. Though that thought was completely thrown out the window when she looked over and saw Darin right in front of her eyes!! Even her imagination wasn't that good!!

Rather than saying anything, though, she froze in her place, her mouth dropping as far as it could go as she stared up at him. She was in complete and utter shock. What did he expect?? You couldn't just go and surprise your sister after however many months had gone by. After having broken her heart for leaving in the first place!!

So yes. She was still just standing there. Not sure what to say or do... all the emotions that she'd ignored or pushed away finally bubbling up inside her.

Frozen. Any time Anya was still, Darin knew something was wrong. Not that he needed a sign to tell him that she didn't know what to say. She was probably a hair away from beating him senseless. As he'd avoided that once already today, Darin had hopes of doing so again, but he deserved it no less here than he had from Derek. Probably more so.

"Yeah, okay. Not my best entrance, I know," he apologized. Darin wasn't used to being nervous but he was nervous now and it began to show as he looked off around the lane for a moment to collect his thoughts. "Right so..." Well, what else could he do? Words escaped him at the moment (and odd sensation, let me tell you) and Darin simply stepped forward to hug his little sister tightly. "I'm so sorry," he told her shoulder.

Anya was still frozen when he hugged her. She couldn't move for some odd reason. As much as she wanted nothing more than to throw her arms around him... she just couldn't. Not yet, at least. Because honestly! This was what she'd wanted all along -- for Darin and Taylor to be around whenever she wanted a hug. That was one of the things they were good for, aside from them being hilarious and amazing and overall great brothers.

As much as she wanted to return the hug, she was rooted in her spot in shock. Though as he hugged her, the shock suddenly turned into... something else entirely and she started to cry. Whether they were tears of joy, anger, or sadness... she wasn't quite sure! Probably all three.

"You can't say that..." She finally got out, gaining the strength to push him away finally, "You can't say that and expect that everything is going to be fine, Darin. You don't get that privilege."
