Hogsmeade so far had been pretty darn awesome. She'd gotten to hang out with a number of her friends as well as gone to different shops and done the normal Hogsmeade thing. Anyway, now it was time to find Anya. Darin didn't expect this one to go quite nearly as well which might have been why he'd put it off to find Derek first. He'd owed them both better than this but his sister... Screwing over your sibling was a pretty low blow.
Luckily for Darin, he knew exactly the spots Anya was likely to frequent and he spotted her fairly quickly. "None of that's for me, is it?" he asked cheerfully. Words escaped him at the moment (and odd sensation, let me tell you) and Darin simply stepped forward to hug his little sister tightly. "I'm so sorry," he told her shoulder.

As much as she wanted to return the hug, she was rooted in her spot in shock. Though as he hugged her, the shock suddenly turned into... something else entirely and she started to cry. Whether they were tears of joy, anger, or sadness... she wasn't quite sure! Probably all three.
"You can't say that..." She finally got out, gaining the strength to push him away finally, "You can't say that and expect that everything is going to be fine, Darin. You don't get that privilege."
