So I entered a contest about a month ago.  I got one of those cheesy, "You're a finalist" e-mails today saying if you confirm your contact info, you're still eligble.  It doesn't ask for a credit card or anything, so I go ahead and do so

Yeah, just like that. I'm 99.99999% sure it's real, seeing as it was sponsored by a legit company (Tooth & Nail Records), and they didn't ask for anything like my credit card number. My address and phone number aren't exactly hot commodities for identity thieves, I'm guessing.
