laptop question

the dvd drive on my grandfather's laptop recently stopped being able to burn dvds and has a hard time recognizing them. i looked online and apparently the brand of drive is really crappy (matshita or something). i want to replace the drive with a good brand (sony or pioneer), but it has a weird bezel on it, like an asymmetrical elongated trapezoid
