Is it me or does the Current seem disappointed with your guys' win? Under "Best Performance That's not a Play", on top they put, 1. Comedia a go go but as you scroll down they go on and on abou the 3rd place winner Cornyopia or whatever...aaaaah they just don't get it now do they?
I think some editors/writers of the Current are disappointed (overall) that some of their tastes are not the same as the rest of the ridiculous tastes of this town, where people are VERY afraid to try something new.
Most folks of SA are comfortable drinking the same beers at the same bars, watching the same ol' team, listening to the same ol' music, watching the same ol' movies at the same ol' theater, eating the same ol' food and so on. They don't want anything that is out-of-the-way and because of that, there alot of great things that don't blip on the radar and fade out unrealized.
I think it's safe to say that some people don't put is in that "great things" catagory. We're either "same ol'" stuff or "something different" that they are not going to try.
Big whoop. We were mentioned umpteen times in that issue and I couldn't be any gipper! Also, Arron Block's write-up of the public access show is grand and extremely flattering! (We were compared to Kids in the Hall and CLASSIC SNL.) Nice, eh?!
