Ilan beats Marcel? What the fucking huh? I liked Cliff for the first couple of episodes, and then he began to talk and it went all downhill. He was too much like the guy who put freshman on the bubbler in high school for me to appreciate his cooking most of the time. I was rooting for Sam the entire time, and would have been happy if either him or Marcel won. One moment that stands out in my mind is when Padma told Sam to pack it up Marcel looked shocked as hell, and I completely agreed with his reaction.

i wanted sam to win, but honestly, i was just kind of 'eh' about the whole series this go round.

I was all for Sam, but yet it seems almost from the beginning that he was slotted to win, thus why I enjoyed Marcel being the underdog and Top Chef pseudo-villain. Ilan is just a fucking hack, and we saw it time and time again with his boring, saffron coma inducing dishes and his propensity to claim how antagonistic Marcel was throughout the show, yet also slandered him as being an inferior chef, slammed his dishes at the judge's table without Marcel being present, and even participated in performing a frat boy prank centered around shaving Marcel's head unwillingly. Yeah, Ilan is really a top notch fellow.

But Ilan totally did not deserve to win. that's quite frustrating.
