Dudes who are seniors! You should give to the senior class gift thing, if you have extra monies lying around! Because it is an endowment for scholarships and financial aid is awesome. Good job, senior class officials, you have come up with a sweet gift for which I am motivated to separate myself from mah greenbacks. While, yeah, it would be nice to ( Read more... )

My understanding of economic conservatism is that it allows individuals to be generous with charity/aid/whatever on their own initiative, but discourages collectives from forcing it upon the individuals that make them up.

Fo sho. My mom charitably gives to the Chicago Public School system every year, for example. And you can think of that serving her economic interests because she values education worth however many $$ she gives to the CPS. But I don't think this is quite an example of that ( ... )

You *are* plucky. One of the things I like about you. That and you care about your friends.

I find your parents awesome. I also feel extremely guilty that I woke your mom up at like 11PM when I was trying to call your cell phone and dialed your Chicago home number instead because it was also listed in my phone as "Sonia."

I also still owe you for housing me. When interviews are over and I'm closer to done with work, like sometime in April-June, we should meet up! I'll try to take advantage of a federal holiday (e.g. President's Day). Let me know what your schedule is like. I can easily take a bus on the weekend to NYC, and you're welcome to come over to DC.
