I understand that and I completely agree-the website I used, in my opinion, shows that these things are not new-the definitions for them are. (hell I got this website off a gay -related site link) I consider myself bi so I would be stupid not to agree with your points :-) If you look at all of the links on the site, I think it is very gay-friendly. It simply states that friendship is the core and is the most meaningful relationship you can have and on that I agree. How many "boyfriends/girlfriends" do people go through? In the end its your friends that are always there. I think a romantic relationship is the epitomy of that friendship-that's all. I think terms put limits on us in society. Feel what you want to feel, don't worry about definitions because they are fluid and change-the emotions don't.

(Copy and Pasted from my Myspace-similar response-but slightly more info)...I think we just view the information on that website differently. I got the link from a gay related site link-I think if you read all the links it explains that having romantic feeling towards people of the same sex is nothing new-whatever you call it. There are different degrees of everything and like I said before, I think the need to "define" and categorize everything benefits no one. I am all about equal opportunity for everybody and everything. I do think though that American's have made friendship less important then it really is, that we've put it on the proverbial back burner and I think it should be central to our lives as much as romantic relationships. People needs friends-period. Also, because we've felt the need to categorize everything people repress there emotions-IE if they feel very strognly about another they feel the need to either define themselves as "gay" or ignore it completely-there is barely any middle ground allowed anymore.
