employee satisfaction?

So, this morning at work we had a "Mandatory All Employee Meeting". Basically it's a pep rally where management tells us how great the company is and all the wonderfully things we've got to look forward to. We have these once or twice a year. The funny thing is, they basically have to bribe the employees to show up. First off I went at 8:00 ( Read more... )

I feel exactly the same about my employer.

If I were offered the same job at another company I probably wouldn't take it. I would if I was offered benefits (health, dental, social security, etc), possible raise in pay for seniority, and I sure as hell wouldn't pay rent. I just had to cash in all the savings bonds my grandpa gave me cause I didn't have enough money to pay rent using just what I make at the store. I owed my boss more money than I have been making. I'm quitting teaching. July is my last month.

Same here. I sell products that I would never sign up for myself (it's morally draining, truthfully), and if it weren't my job to get them to enroll, I would advise them against it... No, I wouldn't do the same job anywhere else, it would take a lot... like paying 100% of health benefits, and 5 dollars more an hour, and a contract so that I would have complete job security... I have plans to start my own business by the end of the year!

When I worked at Showboat, I recommended it. That was before Harrahs took over, and it was still a decent place to stay. Working at CD World, of course I recommended it; my paycheck depended on it, so that doesn't really count by your criteria. Still, I prefer small, indy music stores over the big boxes, and if I need to special order stuff, I do it at CD Exchange in Northfield as opposed to Breast Buy or Amazon (unless they can't get it.)

As for Sands, well... you know how I feel about that place.

I love my job.
I would recomend the company.
I have great benefits and pay.
So in order for me to leave they would have to offer me a more money plus the incentive
of promotions, etc.
