National Poetry Month- April 05

It has been brought to my attention that it is national poetry month. I shall follow wordsofastory's lead and post a poem every day. One of my favorite English teachers had a unit within his Writing Fiction and Poetry class dedicated to song lyrics, so song lyrics will be included in this endeavor.

I love Shel Silverstein. I read his poetry books obsessively growing up. He certainly has his share of goofy poems, but there are some really profound ones woven in.

Yeah, he's fantastic. I haven't reread him in years, but clearly I should do so.
