Before adopting Maggie I was unaware of the affects of the misinformed and negative stereotypes of Pit Bulls. Now I know the truth; that the public fear of a breed that has never been known to be human aggressive as a characteristic of the breed is leading to the daily euthanasia of thousands of dogs classified as "Pit Bulls". Appropriate, healthy families are afraid to adopt Pit Bulls, even Pit Bulls who have passed temperament and socialization testing. This public misconception is directly resulting in death of these dogs.
A new Verizon commercial depicts two vicious looking Pit Bulls chained up in a parking lot. Not only is this depiction harmful to the breed but chaining dogs for long periods of time is cruel and causes aggression in any breed. This commercial is feeding into the public fear and misconception of Pit Bulls. Please consider signing this petition asking Verizon to pull the ad.
