Henry took the battery from the phone and dropped both pieces back into Vicki's purse. "Bat boy? I'd thought you'd come up with something more original, or at least tell Mike, the name's Henry."

Vicki put both hands over her ears and snarled, "Quit yelling. My head hurts."

Did Mike just??.. He couldn't really 'walk' away from Vicki?.. could he?? :(.

I'm not sure if Mike is walking away from Vicki or just stepping back. Hopefully the next chapter will give us the answers.

I'm taking a break from this to work on "The Winter Story". That is finished, I'll come back to this one.

Wonderful chapter! You did a great job showing Vicki learning to hunt and her impatience with herself as well as the patience Henry's got, showing her how to do it right. I suspect he's gonna need all the patience he can muster before all's said and done, given who his student is :)

Poor old Mikey's gotta be some kind of masochist, voluntarily partnering with Crowley. Shouldn't be too tough for him to show her up though, I've always figured her promotion to captain had to be politically motivated rather than based on merit, especially after the O'Connor case.

Interesting how Mike more or less cut himself off from Vicki. Why he chose to do it that particular way isn't hard to understand, but you've gotta know that Vicki won't see it that way. I'm looking forward to how you're gonna have her react - who knows what kind of carnage a pissed vamp Vicki can create.

Keep up the fantastic work and I will try to wait patiently for your next chapter.
